Newfoundland Sports Weekly is an online, and newspaper, source for local sports.  It was originally a project created by two Memorial University of Newfoundland students in an effort to create a weekly provincial based newspaper that will deal with 90% Local sports, and 10% National/International Sports.  We are currently looking for freelance journalists or volunteers from all over the province to report on different sporting events and to send us pictures.

      This site, and paper, will enable children in minor sports to check out their game reports, and to even see their league standings.  We will be covering the St. John's Fog Devils extensively as some of our staff members work for the Fog Devils' media team, as well as the fact that they are the biggest team in the province.  The Challenge Cup of soccer in Newfoundland and Labrador will also be a hot topic throughout the summer.   We will be covering everything from minor sports to professional Newfoundlanders and Labradorians whom are in National and International leagues.  We plan to have a section of our paper dedicated to feedback from our online forum, as well as many other different and interesting aspects of the provincial sports scene.  Such as cartoons, crosswords, columns, pub reviews etc...

We now plan on releasing our first issue in the 4th quarter of 2006, and plan on building this website much bigger, and creating a constant stream of information
